Here are our top 4 exterior maintenance tips for your Pollard Windows:

1. Inspect the caulking on the exterior perimeter of your windows and patio doors at least once per year. This helps to create a watertight seal between the window and door frames and your house siding.

2. If the caulking is cracked, broken or missing, completely remove and replace with all new caulking to prevent from further damage.

3. To remove any deposits on vinyl surfaces, such as grease, oil or stains, use a cleaner such as Fantastik and gently rinse thoroughly afterwards.

4. Note: Power washers should not be used when cleaning windows or doors as it may damage the products, therefore voiding warranty.

Window FAQ: What causes condensation and what can I do about it?
Window condensation usually happens in the wintertime when outside temperatures are low. Condensation can appear on energy efficient windows. The worry is that something must be wrong with the windows. In reality, the condensation is an indication that the windows are working as intended. A well sealed home with limited natural ventilation can also increase humidity and cause condensation as well as activities like showering, cooking, and doing laundry. To minimize moisture in the air, you can open your windows a crack or turn on your bathroom fan during a shower. Use a hygrometer to measure the moisture and help maintain proper levels. If the problem persists, see an HVAC professional to determine possible solutions. And, consider upgrading your windows to a triple pane glass product that will virtually eliminate the possibility of condensation on your windows.
