Burlington, Ontario. March 1, 2008: Choose Pollard Windows’ Liberty Collection and you’ll make your neighbours green with envy! The Liberty Collection of vinyl clad wood windows is the green choice when building your dream home or renovating your home. Founded by a young visionary with a strong work ethic, Pollard Windows began in 1948. Over the years, the Pollard formula for success has been simple: work hard, reinvest in new technology, and give customers more for their money. Pollard operates out of a state-of-the-art facility and is recognized as a leader in window manufacturing technology. Pollard Windows has a strong focus on ‘green’ and being environmental stewards and are currently celebrating their 60th year of business.

The exterior of Pollard’s windows are made of vinyl which offers excellent durability and can be easily recycled. Vinyl windows are resistant to rot, rust, corrosion, blistering, flaking and infestation by insects. This prolongs the lifecycle of vinyl or vinyl clad wood windows and makes them virtually maintenance free meaning less windows will end up in the landfill. Once the time comes for them to be replaced vinyl windows can be recycled and turned into another useful product, Pollard Windows recycles its vinyl and other components that cannot be used in products. Not only is vinyl durable and recyclable but a study conducted by Franklin Associates shows that vinyl windows require only one third as much energy to manufacture as aluminum windowsi.

On the interior, Liberty Collection windows are made of maple, oak or pine. Wood has natural thermal properties and helps to reduce heat loss. With responsible use of wood, Pollard Windows is doing their part to protect the environment. All wood scraps generated during manufacturing are recycled to be used in different products.

In between the vinyl exterior and natural wood interior, Powerpane Plus Low E Argon glazing combines Comfort Ti-PS™ Low E with Argon gas and an Intercept® spacer bar. This glazing and spacer bar will reduce the amount of energy required to heat and cool the home, decreasing the amount of greenhouse gases released into the environment.

Pollard Windows is a proud member of the U.S. and Canada Green Building Councils® and a partner with ENERGY STAR®. Pollard’s Liberty Collection windows were featured in the Near Zero Energy Home in Paterson, NJ, which was the second Platinum rated LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Home in the U.S., and the first Platinum rated home in Canada. Now working on the first Platinum rated subdivision in Canada.

So when you’re looking for windows for your next project, go green with Pollard Windows’ Liberty Collection vinyl clad wood windows. You’ll increase the curb appeal of your home and rest assured that you are helping to protect the environment today and for future generations.

The Pollard formula for success was simple: work hard, reinvest in new technology, and give customers more for their money. Today, Pollard operates out of a 300,000 sq. ft. plant and is recognized as a leader in window manufacturing technology.
