Scott Schlager Wins The National Association Of Home Builders’ “CGA Of The Year” Award
Cheektowaga, New York. February 12, 2009:Scott Schlager, Regional Factory Representative of Pollard Windows, Inc., was awarded “Certified Graduate Associate of the Year” by the National Association of Home Builders at the International Builders’ Show on January 20, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Scott has always been an advocate for choice in housing, economic growth and quality of life in our community, ” said Joe McIvor, Executive Vice President of the Buffalo Niagara Builders Association. “It’s always great to see when the national spotlight shines positively on one of our local members, which ultimately reflects well on Western New York and our industry.”
Only one Certified Graduate Associate member is awarded each year which honors outstanding leadership and achievement in the building industry. A Certified Graduate Associate is a professional designation offered by the National Association of Home Builders for its members who support the building industry through product manufacturing, supply, distribution of products and services. This designation is earned by taking various courses offered by state and local home builders’ associations and at national building events. Schlager is an active member of the Buffalo Niagara Builders Association (BNBA) and has served on their board of directors. He currently serves as Associate Vice President of the New York State Builders Association (NYSBA). Both organizations are affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
“This award sets Scott and his company apart from other businesses in our industry, ” states NYSBA Executive Vice President Philip LaRocque. “By winning the CGA of the Year award, Scott is being recognized nationally for his leadership and dedication to excellence in the building industry. ”
The CGA program, established by the National Association of Home Builders University of Housing, is administered locally by the New York State Builders Association Research and Education Foundation. CGA’s earn the building industry’s premier professional designation by successfully completing an intensive series of courses provided by leading building industry practitioners and academics.

Scott, however, has differentiated himself by going out into his community and advancing awareness of professional designations and their importance. ” said Jeff Hunt, NAHB 2009 CGB Board of Governors Vice Chair.
In addition to the CGA of the Year award, Mr. Schlager was also awarded NAHB’s Certified Green Professional (CGP)™ designation at the IBS Show. The CGP is an exclusive designation offered by the National Association of Home Builders, it is designed to teach professionals strategies for incorporating green building principles into home using cost-effective options.
